AMAZING GRACE Review
This is a movie not just with Christian themes but themes of morality and what is considered just and humane.
It’s sad to know that America took longer time to follow what England accomplished decades earlier.
I often have trouble understanding the storyline of movies with thick and heavy English accent cause that’s when I really need subtitles badly.. just like when I watch Harry Potter.
The acting performance of every one of the actor and actress in this movie is superb.. these British actors must have been experts from Shakespearean theater.
This is not a movie about the song alone.. it’s a movie about the true struggle of a man to make a difference.. a man who knew well the songwriter of the famous hymn… a man of peace who will always be celebrated in history.

THE NUMBER 23 Review
Jim Carrey is trying out a horror flick.. and it’s not that bad.
It’s more of a thriller/horror actually because it messes a lot with our minds.. every time we’re trying to figure out the storyline, we get mistaken.. again.
It’s sorta hard to take Jim Carrey seriously, because we still remember him as a funny guy Ace Ventura…but I guess he wants to show the world that he’s an actor of wide range of capabilities.
The concept of ‘the number 23′ is pretty intense… but.. this movie could still do better.. because at times you find the lines are a bit cheesy.

BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA
I have never read the novel.. so I was expecting something of a Narnia kinda feel movie… but what I got was even more..
This movie is definitely for family and children to see.. not so much cause it’s a fantasy movie… but it is a heartfelt movie about friendship… It is probably one of the best movies out there that deals with friendship.
It has God themes which encourage room for debate and open-mind.
It’s amazing to think what could be possible if we would just let our imaginations run wild.
I highly recommend this movie.. go see it with your loved ones, it will strengthen relationships and I’m not talking about valentine-type of relationship.

No commentsGHOST RIDER Review
Anyone who thinks that Nicolas Cage is perfect to play a superhero let alone a dark and gloomy one.. is fooling himself.
The first hour of this movie is kinda cool… the stunts, the scary images of the bad guys and its thematic elements..o and the bike.
but the last hour of this film turns silly and way too predictable.
The best part of this film is Eva Mendez.. she’s the real fire…she’s even way too hot for ghost riders’ bike.

BREACH
It’s a pretty good thriller
though I think Ryan Phillipe could improve his acting skills a bit.. a.k.a. practice some more.. he needs to take into account that he’s lucky enough to work alongside a veteran actor heavyweight class Chris Cooper.
But other than that, the story feels even more harrowing because of the fact it’s based on true accounts
and when it comes to movies like this.. it’s always fun to see how the real people end up today as it is being explained right after the end scene.

This film goes to show that hands down.. Eddie Murphy is a talented actor.. for a black man to play an Asian is just.. it’s just freakin’ hilarious… it’s more hilarious than the fat wife, who is also played by Eddie Murphy.
I wasn’t expecting that it was a bit of a chick-flick too.
but most times… the jokes or the humor, or punch lines don’t sound original.. they often come across as trying too hard and they remind you of other jokes from different movies in the past.
It’s interesting to see how the setting or the town where the film supposedly take place is Universal Backlot.. it all seems familiar now that I’ve been there too many times.

No commentsHANNIBAL RISING
I’m a big fan of all Hannibal Lecter series! so I’m probably gonna be a bit bias on this one.
This is almost just as good as its predecessors…
the young Hannibal,.. thought his eastern-Europe accent got in the way at times… is still as menacing and evil and diabolically intelligent as the one portrayed by Anthony Hopkins.
I don’t care what other critics say… this film is only for the fans of the series. And if you have trouble getting through the violence level in this movie.. then you probably shouldn’t watch it in the first place.

I was expecting a movie that was gonna suck big time..
but instead… I was mistaken.
Some of the scenes and visual effects were actually pretty stunning..
when the rider was flying fast with his dragon.. it felt like a roller coaster ride… I was quite impressed!
It’s amazing how CGI and technology for films are getting more real and real these days.. you can hardly tell the difference.

This movie… Inspires!!
True story never felt so truer…
In my country.. it was school against school rather than races… It was more of religions rather than colors.. but stupidity of all the fights and unnecessary deaths were similar.
The whole cast of people who play all the classmates are just as good performers as Hillary Swank is.
This movie gives me a better appreciation for teachers and educators and what they have to go through everyday..
Teaching is a noble job.. it’s not a well-paying job, but it’s a very noble job.
It is interesting to see how today’s bloggings may fully replace the good ol’ hand-written diaries or journals.
you need to not miss ‘Freedom Writers’ while it’s still in theaters everywhere.

This is a story based on a true story but using other names.
The best part of this movie is the acting performance of Ben Foster as the older brother who owes money resulting in his younger brother being kidnapped by the one he owes money to.
I like how the filmmaker of this movie makes it in a form sorta like a documentary at times.. by using what it seems to be a re-enactment of the interviews done on the witnesses and persons involved.
Overall.. it’s a pretty interestingly made movie…
I was fascinated by the rich lifestyle that some of those characters enjoyed.
and Justin Timberlake surprisingly did very well… he must have hired a really talented acting coach to train him.

LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA
Now this… this is way better than Flags of our Fathers.
Letters from Iwo Jima is like the ‘Monalisa’ of war movies…
this is pure masterpiece.
I give most of the credits to Irish Yamashita and Paul Haggis for penning this.. art.
and Clint Eastwood.. o don’t even get me started with this son of a gun.
Clint Eastwood just gets better and better as he gets older… he’s like wine!!
War is a terrible thing.. whether you’re on either side..
we’re all humans.. with loved ones whom we’d rather be with at anytime.
you need to have patience to watch this movie.. but in the end you’ll appreciate the fact that you’ve watched it.

NOTES ON A SCANDAL Review
this movie’s all about great acting..
great.. great.. great.. acting. Acting doesn’t get any better than this.
Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, and Bill Nighy are top notch performers.
the story’s a bit wrenching..
you couldn’t help but to feel that way since the story’s about a scandal caused by teacher having sex with an underage boy.

DREAMGIRLS Review
The music in this movie is great.
every one of the song sounds amazing… I think any category regarding song and music this year should be won by Dreamgirls.
Jennifer Hudson deserves all the awards and nominations she’s been getting. In fact, she made this movie…
it wouldn’t be the same without her presence… and her diva voice.
Jennifer Hudson is a revelation… it’s so good to see someone who lost American Idol but didn’t end up fading away like the rest..
She made a comeback and the comeback is rewarding… she’s proven that no talent show is gonna keep her down.
Three friends form a group and sing at talent shows when they get discovered by a ruthless manager (Jamie Foxx), willing to do whatever it takes to gain money. They start by being the backup singers for James Thunder Early (Eddie Murphy). Eventually their friendship fall apart because of jealousy, fame, fortune only to find later on in life that family and friends are the most important of all.
Eddie Murphy does a terrific job as well in this movie, playing a man who’s struggling whether to keep his own style or keep up with time and changes.
I’m usually not fond of musical movies…
though I think Moulin Rouge is a better film than Chicago.
but Dreamgirls takes this genre to a higher level of excellence.

SMOKIN’ ACES Review
This action flick clearly comes from the planet trying too hard
Smokin’ Aces wants so badly to copy the works of masters like Rodriguez, Tarantino, and Guy Ritchie… but it came up short
now don’t get me wrong… I like action movies.. with lots of gunpower, blood, bodyparts flying, people getting kicked left and right and a bit of comedy along the way… and I think Quentin Tarantino is the man for that kind of film.
but Smokin’ Aces.. it’s just… the story of each character is not cleverly interwoven… interwoven, haha.. I like that word.
well.. anyway.. like I said.. there’s just too much confusion… and the twist, the twist at the end is just a pathetic attempt to save what is left of this whole movie, which overall is a pathetic attempt to try to be what it could never be.
The only one worth watching is the pretty face of Alicia Keys, even that is not a worthy enough reason to sit through this mess fest.

EPIC MOVIE
let’s get honest here..
do you really believe I’d spend a lot of time reviewing this movie?!
a movie that clearly makes you feel a bit dumber by the minute and even more after you finish watching it.
I mean.. the jokes even wear off halfway through the movie til the end.
This movie should’ve just gone straight to DVD. ya know… one of those sections called DVD’s you would want to miss this year.
some movies should just never be made, period.
