DREAMGIRLS Review

The music in this movie is great.
every one of the song sounds amazing… I think any category regarding song and music this year should be won by Dreamgirls.

Jennifer Hudson deserves all the awards and nominations she’s been getting. In fact, she made this movie…
it wouldn’t be the same without her presence… and her diva voice.
Jennifer Hudson is a revelation… it’s so good to see someone who lost American Idol but didn’t end up fading away like the rest..

She made a comeback and the comeback is rewarding… she’s proven that no talent show is gonna keep her down.

Three friends form a group and sing at talent shows when they get discovered by a ruthless manager (Jamie Foxx), willing to do whatever it takes to gain money. They start by being the backup singers for James Thunder Early (Eddie Murphy). Eventually their friendship fall apart because of jealousy, fame, fortune only to find later on in life that family and friends are the most important of all.

Eddie Murphy does a terrific job as well in this movie, playing a man who’s struggling whether to keep his own style or keep up with time and changes.

I’m usually not fond of musical movies…
though I think Moulin Rouge is a better film than Chicago.
but Dreamgirls takes this genre to a higher level of excellence.
