AMAZING GRACE Review

This is a movie not just with Christian themes but themes of morality and what is considered just and humane.

It’s sad to know that America took longer time to follow what England accomplished decades earlier.

I often have trouble understanding the storyline of movies with thick and heavy English accent cause that’s when I really need subtitles badly.. just like when I watch Harry Potter.

The acting performance of every one of the actor and actress in this movie is superb.. these British actors must have been experts from Shakespearean theater.

This is not a movie about the song alone.. it’s a movie about the true struggle of a man to make a difference.. a man who knew well the songwriter of the famous hymn… a man of peace who will always be celebrated in history.

as for the comment about american slavery…America’s problem with ending slavery was it’s federal system. at the time, no one would have dreamed that slavery could possibly be an issue that was resolved by the federal government. That is why you had the American Civil War. It wasn’t as much about slavery as it was about (and this will sound weird) freedom. You had people fighting for the South that didn’t own slaves. You even had blacks fighting for the South. In fact, the South was more open to having black soldiers than the North.

To keep things in historical context, American slavery is a footnote in the history of slavery. The number of slaves imported from Africa to the western hemisphere was very small when you compare them to other countries. The only aspect of American slavery that makes it really a big deal is the fact that we fought our bloodiest war just to end it. No other country can say that.

Unfortunately, slavery still exists in the world. some estimates say that there could be as many as 30 million slaves in the world today. That number is larger than at any other point in the history of hte world.

    It’s really disgusting.

It’s more disturbing is that we, this generation, have become slaves to things that have made us ignorant to what’s really important in the world today.

You said that there are more slaves now than at any other point in the history of the world.
    Action needs to be taken!
I’m not saying have another Civil war like method.
But all it takes sometimes is for one man to speak up… to make a difference.
