PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD’S END Review
Crazy fans LOL!! I was in the theater full of hardcore fans in costumes, all dressed up and everything.. some even looked more like gypsies than pirates… or are they one and the same? who the hell cares!:)
‘Pirates’ 3 if I may call it so.. does a good job of making all the heroes look really cool.
the shots taken at many peculiar angles and the energy of its original score music make all the more justifiable for the applauding fans to make idols and icons out of Jack Sparrow, Bill Turner, and Elizabeth Swan.
This is a movie just for the fans
and have I mentioned that this movie’s visual effects are nothing short of amazing… I think it can win Oscar again for that category.
I for one am a bit disappointed in the fact that Chow Yun Fat didn’t get in many sword- fighting scenes other than the beginning part.
You gotta hand it to producer Jerry Bruckheimer though who always knows how to bank money through summer blockbuster.
now back to the movie.. I think it’s too long.. it’s terribly long.. it has enough comic relief and punch lines along the way to keep you from daydreaming or bored, but still,.. it’s too damn long.
Jack is back! Elizabeth and Will Turner will find out if their love is meant to be. All pirates of the world unite against the evil Davy Jones. Everything you know about pirate’s legend will be delivered at World’s End.
for a movie that advertised itself as an action adventure movie, it sure does have too much talking and not enough swashbuckling action.
I guess the length of the film is necessary in order for the story to be told and understood. There are new characters that give fresh blood into the storyline however, hence the weird famous Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones who plays Jack’s old man.
Johnny Depp once said that his character Jack Sparrow was based on Keith Richards.
O.. and is it just me or do you also think that the audience could use subtitles to get what the Jamaican ‘Calypso’ is talking about?!
Overall, I think it’s a really entertaining movie to enjoy for this summer, I think it’s not a waste of your ridiculously expensive ticket, I think you should definitely watch it with a gang of friends, and I think this one’s a keeper when the time comes for it to be on DVD.

Movie comments/quotes:
Rocky Balboa - “The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward.” … [Marie]: “The last thing to age on somebody is their heart”
The Pursuit of Happyness - It almost felt like cheating a moment of privacy when we see the father bending down to kiss goodnight to his son on a cot in the shelter. My favorite parts included all the running, when he finished his essay second and found out the first one didn’t see the essay on the back and missed part of the test. Even if the rubrix cube wasn’t part of the real life story, I think that was a great touch in the movie. Another favorite part of mine were the times the main character was running down the street. Hehe.
The Queen - I cannot say that I understand the queen any better, but it was an interesting presentation, nonetheless. It was interesting to think about how difficult Tony Blair’s position must be to link people from completely different perspectives. On a side note, I think Prince Charles is not as nice as he is portrayed to be in the movie. In general, this film does not seem to paint a flattering picture of the royal family
No commentsSHREK THE THIRD Review
This is by far the funniest of all the ‘Shrek’ fanchise movies.
It can’t compete with the first Shrek movie which was still the most awesome… but as far as laughing out loud til your guts hurt goes, the movie Shrek the Third is the champ.
You’ve gotta see this movie.. trust me, It’s got jokes to spare even for the next century.. I know I’m exaggerating..
but I kid you not, Shrek The Third will be worth the money.
The search for the next King of Far, Far Away has never been this funny.
The whole cast return and Puss in Boots cracks me up the most!

GEORGIA RULE
I have to disagree with the critics on this one.
In my opinion,..’Georgia Rule’ is a pretty good drama..
It certainly has its flaws and it could be better, but overall, I would say that it’s a pretty good drama movie for mother’s day weekend.
Makes me appreciate that my mother and I are in better family relationship that the characters in this movie.
One thing we have to agree is that those women can act! Jane Fonda, Felicity Huffman, even Lindsay Lohan!! Each of them gives powerhouse performance.
Lily (Felicity Huffman) who can’t get a grip of her daughter’s attitude sends Rachel (Lindsay Lohan) to stay for the summer with grandma Georgia (Jane Fonda). The three finally have to reveal hurtful hidden secrets that would bind them together as family.
Though Lindsay Lohan is an attractive girl, I’m not much of a big fan of hers like most guys would claim to be..
but if she keeps up her acting skills and stays out of trouble, one of these years, she might get awarded with one of those golden statuette..
the key for her now is to find that one defining role.

THE SALON
Now can I get a holla!!! okay, I’m not hip, I know.. but this movie is most definitely hip and even more.
Vivica Fox on the leading role and she looks really good, and I don’t mean just appearance-wise.
‘The Salon’ is one very funny comedy. It is 10 times better than ‘Barbershop’ franchise or even Queen Latifah’s ‘Beauty Shop’.
I kid you not, this movie will make you laugh so hard, you would want to see it again, probably even buy it when it comes out on DVD.
The things that the characters say and do are just.. LOL!! you just gotta see it to know what I’m talking about.
The storyline is not bad at all, the humor’s the winner on this one.

THE EX
‘The Ex’ was originally going to be called ‘Fast Track’
This is a sorry excuse for romantic comedy. It’s nothing that you’ve never seen before in other better movies than this one.
man meets woman, man meets a woman’s man from the past, man competes with that man, in hopes that slapstick humor will cheer us up along the way.
This movie does have some funny moments thanks to Fred Armisen’s hilarious performance that makes him a hit as one of the current cast of SNL.
One can wonder if Zach Braff’s going to be stuck playing the same type of JD character for the rest of his career.
I can only that wish he would make another ‘Garden State’ quality type of movie because ‘Garden State’s was a pretty cool movie, which was written and directed by Zach Braff.

DELTA FARCE
Git er done!!
Mistaking Mexico for Iraq, LOL!! I don’t care who you are… that’s funny right there
for those of us fans of Blue Collar comedy team, ‘Delta Farce’ definitely kicks ass!
It’s not the funniest things ever, but it has all the sense of humor that makes Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy famous.
the skinny dude DJ Qualls (Everett) is the one that cracks me up the most.
To those of you who are not fans of Blue Collar comedy type of humor, then you might find ‘Delta Farce’ a bit cheesy and even boring.. so I suggest just wait til you can see it on DVD.

28 WEEKS LATER Review
This movie delivers what it’s supposed to.
fans of zombie movies won’t get disappointed..
The surprise elements work really well, they’ll surely scare you, guaranteed.
if you don’t like movies with blood and gore, then you might not like ‘28 weeks later’,
but if you don’t mind, well then enjoy the frightening ride

1 commentSPIDER-MAN 3 Review
This film is.. soft..
soft is the word I was looking for to describe the third sequel of Spider-Man franchise
For a summer blockbuster.. it’s kinda slow.
I actually like the train action sequence from Spider-Man 2 way better than all the action sequences from Spider-Man 3 combined.
Don’t get me wrong.. the visual effects are stunning and all, but do we really need the cheesy love storyline that best fit daytime soap opera?
and when Tobey’s conceited, that whole scene seems a bit overplayed.
and for some reason.. Tobey makes a funny lookin’ face when he cries.. look, I’m sure he’s a talented actor and I don’t doubt that at all.. but when he cries, he just looks funny…
I’ve always thought that Venom was one of comic book’s coolest villains of all time,
but this movie’s Venom falls short… Topher Grace just doesn’t look the part.. and Venom just isn’t menacing enough.
plus, Venom only gets the last half hour of the movie. What the hell is that?!
I hope there won’t be Spider-Man 4, cause if there’s gonna be one,.. then they would have to go the extra mile just to redeem themselves.

LUCKY YOU
All you poker players would enjoy this movie very much.
‘Lucky You’ is not so much a chick flick as it is a movie about.. well.. poker.. the game of skill and chance. And this reason alone makes this movie very intriguing.
I remember the movie ‘Rounders’, which is a dark drama about playing cards as well, ..but ‘Lucky You’’s got lighter feeling to it.
It’s a weak romantic comedy.. the charms can be found in the suspense of the poker game scenes.
But I do think Drew Barrymore deserves that no. 1 cover in People’s list of beautiful people 2007.
You don’t have to be in a relationship to watch this film..
just as long as you like gambling, betting, and bluffing, you’re good to go.

No commentsKICKIN’ IT OLD SKOOL
This is one of those stupid funny comedy films
It’s certainly not one of the funniest movies of the year.. but I gotta admit, it has a few punch lines resulting in laughs that only this movie can deliver.
Jamie Kennedy’s character goes down during a break dance performance as a kid, goes into coma and wakes up in present time only to find that him and his friends are not break-dancers anymore. But to win the heart of his only crush, he’ll have to bring the team and the groove back together.
The only actual reason why I watched this movie was cause Bobby Lee’s hilarious, he’s even funny when he’s on MadTV.
KICKIN’ IT OLD SKOOL is a silly spin on the 80’s lifestyle and at times it’s like a bad version of ‘Big’

THE CONDEMNED Review
‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin was my favorite WWE superstar of all time
and I think he’s good for the job of leading role in ‘The Condemned’. But you also gotta hand it to Vinnie Jones who does an excellent job playing one of the meanest bad guys ever on silver screen.
A bunch vicious criminals, hardcore murderous villains to ever walk this earth, are gathered and thrown into a remote island where they would have to kill each other off if they want to see the light of the day. One man is wrongfully condemned and will try his best to get out of the hellhole and back into the arms of his love. A greedy media king is hungry for ratings set up cameras all over the island and put those criminals on a reality show that will break all records. Those condemned know about it and do not like one bit of it.
‘The Condemned’ is action-packed, explosives and everything…and I think it’s mostly for testosterone viewers only.
It does kinda makes the audience think about the effect violence has on society nowadays.
As much as we try to deny it.. There’s just something about it that captivates our attention, no matter what the level of the violence is.

WIND CHILL Review
This is a pretty scary horror movie. And the story’s not bad either.
Ghost horror movies have never been this well-made.
Stephen King and Alfred Hitchcock would be so proud. M. Night Shyamalan should take a note or two.
A young woman catches a ride offered by a young man from the same college. They take a shortcut that causes the car to break down on a remote place, at night in the middle of a spooky forest covered with thick snow. Ghosts of the people that have died there visit them and it seems that they are going to be stuck there as well forever.
The film ‘Wind Chill’ does a good job in delivering what it’s supposed to. It gives audience the chills and creeps.
It’s like a feature length of an episode of Twilight Zone but way, way better.
the film creators took careful time to build up the characters but the efforts paid off.
Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) and Ashton Holmes (A History of Violence) give terrific screen performances. Each of them is bound for greatness someday.
