THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM Review

This next movie in the Bourne series is the best of all the three films. Action and Thriller mixed into one heart-pumping adrenaline rush, cat and mouse chase story that gets the audiences holding on to their seat, excited and curious about what’s going to happen on the next scene and the next one, the one after. You’d go out of the theater saying,… “Wow! That was cool!” Even the shaky camera method that Director Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Supremacy) likes to use just brings up the coolness even more.
Jason Bourne come home this time to find the people that have been hunting him down. He’s also in search of the people responsible for creating Jason Bourne, the killer. It’s time to settle the score and get even. Though he doesn’t remember much about his past, he sure does remember how to use his skills to get back at the very agency who trained him and now labels him a traitor. Noah (David Straithairn) plays the bad guy who’d kill anyone just to get the job done.
Matt Damon has outdone himself with this performance. Many people who think that Bourne movies are not all that of an action thriller will now have to correct their criticism. The movie ‘Zodiac’ earlier this year was a psychological thriller that brought us the difficulty of figuring out a serial killer, whereas ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ is a fast-paced thriller that involves espionage, politics, and the question of how far the government is willing to go to keep their secrets hidden.
This movie even has a great car chase scene.
The reason why I find Bruce Willis’ movie ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ more entertaining, because the character John McLane has more humor than Jason Bourne who tends to be serious most of the time and has a damn good reason to be.
If you’re looking to find an awesome time at the movies this summer, a movie that you can watch with family and friends without worrying what may or may not be appropriate for certain ages, then THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM is definitely a must see.

Bourne Identity was a movie that came as a surprise to me, upon it’s release I did expect a action thriller to be so good, especially since I did not think highly of Matt Damon as a serious actor.
When I left the theater, years ago, I was expecting this series to go far with more action and suspense. Supremacy on the other hand was… frustrating to say the least, as the Camera work annoyed me the most and I lost faith in the continuation of the series.
Now we have Bourne Ultimatum, and I must say it is refreshing to see the movie go back on track in my opinion. As the action and suspense is more intense when compared to it’s predecessors.
Though the camera work is back to plague me, the movie kept me entertained enough for me not to make it such a big deal.
In conclusion, I really liked this movie and, like the first one, was surprised to see a great action thriller succeed Bourne Supremacy.
I thought the movie was great and wrapped up the Bourne story well but, unfortunately, I went into it with really high expectations having heard it was the best of the trilogy. It was a bit too much in some aspects: too many locations, too much nonstop action (I felt like I needed a breather), and Bourne is a little too uninjurable for all those crazy chase scenes. Also, I have to say, I thought the ending was a little cheesey.
Despite all that, I really enjoyed the movie, action, storyline and suspense. Matt Damon is so great in this role.
I thought this was the best of the trilogy so far. I loved it, and I went into it with REALLY high expectations from friends. I was STILL impressed regardless. Buy all 3.
