Rama’s SCREEN

Apparently according to the source at IESB and Superherohype, director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy films, Van Helsing) has agreed to direct the live action movie of G.I. JOE. That sounds like a cool news to me considering that I personally thought The Mummy and The Mummy 2 were pretty entertaining movies, while the movie Van Helsing’s only reason for its coolness is because it has the hot mom Kate Beckinsale in it… G.I. Joe has loyal fans but I don’t think the movie version is going to do as well as, say.. Transformers, but if Stephen keeps it action/adventure with lots of heavy artilleries and firepower, then I’d say the G.I. Joe movie should do just fine.

Maybe Mark Wahlberg should be in this movie, he fits the profile. I think Jacinda Barrett should play Scarlett and Kelly Hu can play Baroness. I’m not really sure what to think about who should play Cobra… but anyways, despite the fact that Stephen Sommers is currently still busy planning to film the movie ‘When Worlds Collide’ and despite the fact that Van Helsing was a flop, I think Stephen Sommers is the right man for the job cause he’s got what it takes to bring G.I. Joe to the big screen.
