Do you want a movie title that’s as long as the list of crimes committed by the historic icon portrayed in the movie? How about this one… THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD. Man, who came up with that title. And get this.. it’s based on a novel with the same long title. It’s not even mystic or poetic, it’ real obvious what the movie’s going to be about…

Jesse James was one of the most famous outlaws in the west. Colin Farrell once played him in an action-packed movie ‘American Outlaws’, Rob Lowe played him too in ‘Frank and Jesse’ which wasn’t all that great, mostly because in my opinion, Rob Lowe was not the right man for the job. But in the ‘ASSASSINATION’ movie, Brad Pitt gets to play the infamous character which was deemed as hero to some and a criminal to many. The movie focuses on how Robert Ford is pretty much this troubled person who wants to become like Jesse James, he actually wishes he was Jesse James so much so that he’s willing to kill the man himself.

Christian Bale’s 3:10 to Yuma would have more thrill and action than this movie, but it wouldn’t be that bad to have a western movie that’s mostly drama
Maybe it wouldn’t be as prize worthy as Clint Eastwood’s ‘Unforgiven’, but Brad has been trying to get that nomination since he didn’t get one for ‘Babel’. Do you really think he’s a serious actor or he’s stuck just being People magazine’s sexiest man on the planet?

Casey Affleck (Ben’s brother) who plays Robert Ford has a funny sounding voice, though. For a man he sounds like a kid with sore throat. THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD opens October 5th.
