Rama’s SCREEN

Two of the world’s finest fighters join forces in the upcoming movie THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM. I’m not sure who asked who, but whoever got Jackie Chan and Jet Li to do a movie together needs to be rewarded. It’d be interesting to see how this would work since Jackie Chan usually loves to inject sense of humor and comedy into his films whereas Jet Li, on the other hand, usually likes to do R-rated hardcore action movies with little or no punch lines. No matter how cool this movie’s going to be, the… Chinese government’s probably going to ban it again just like they did to many previous Jet Li’s movies and Jackie Chan’s films.

THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM is about an American teen, obsessed with kung fu, goes back in time and finds himself on an adventure in China with a band of martial art warriors trying to free the imprisoned Monkey King. Jet Li will play two roles: The Monkey King and Silent Monk, while Jackie Chan will play the role master Lu Yan. The legendary choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping (Kill Bill movies and The Matrix movies) will take care of all the action sequences. The movie opens April 18th, 2008.
