D-WAR: DRAGON WARS Review

D-War
D-War? It’s more like D-movie! This is definitely an failed attempt or a poor excuse for Sci-Fi blockbuster action movie. Where do I even begin? Let’s see…

First, there’s that bad acting. I think everyone of the people involved in this production needs to be banned for life.
The visual effects were okay and it would’ve been a hit if it had been released twenty years ago in the same decade as Indiana Jones and Back to the Future movies.
These days, after having watched something like ‘Transformers’, something like this is nothing but a low-grade.

There are many inconsistencies in this movie. Scenes that don’t make sense and sometimes, we’d watch a quick scene might just get exciting but then all of a sudden it cuts into another scene of walking on the beach as if the giant monsters are too lazy to find them.
And who came up with Dragon Wars, when it looks more like Giant Snake Wars?! At one point the snake could crawl really really fast and destroy anything that gets in the way and all of a sudden you’ll see a snake that just staring at its victim like an idiot, just staring there, doing nothing when they’re so close. How stupid is that!

A young beautiful woman has the power to turn a serpent into a dragon that goes up to heaven but that is only if she sacrifices herserlf. Her reincarnated boyfriend and mentor will everything they can to keep the evil power from trying to kill her.

Don’t even get me started with the cheesy lines, lame dialogue that literally put me to sleep as I was trying to watch.
The humor and the punch lines are not funny and moments when they were supposed to be serious are the ones I laughed at the most.
I actually like the Korean movie ‘The Host (Gweomul)‘, back in last March, but D-War, made by a Korean filmmaker, makes me wish I could have my 90 minutes back.

After the movie, I heard a kid asking his father “I don’t get the ending, so what happened?”…. I chuckled inside and in my head I said ‘There’s nothing to get, kid! The movie sucks, plain and simple.”

I just hope J.J. Abrams upcoming monster movie wont’ be as terrible as this one.
