Hot Fuzz about SCOTTY & Harold becomes SULU
The J.J. Abrams Starship Enterprise has the latest cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter John Cho, the guy once famous with his MILF remarks in American Pie and now is most well known as… Harold from the Harold & Kumar movies, is going to play the young Sulu. Excellent choice! Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) has agreed to play the young Scotty.

I think they’re perfect for those roles. Simon Pegg himself has worked with J.J. Abrams before in Mission Impossible III. There has been talks about Chris Pine (Smokin’ Aces, Just My Luck) as the young Kirk but he hasn’t signed on to the deal and there’s no confirmation yet. So far they’ve got:
The young Spock (Zachary Quinto)
The young Chekov (Anton Yelchin)
The young Uhura (Zoey Saldana)
The young Scotty (Simon Pegg)
The young Sulu (John Cho)
The present Spock (Leonard Nimoy)
Nero (Eric Bana)
They’re still keeping the plot shut in secrecy, but I’m sure they’re bound to release little by little, sooner or later. It is a prequel, that we know for sure. The final frontier will be explored by a group of young people who’ll boldly go to where no trekkies have gone before.
