According to Variety, Director Ron Howard is set to direct The Da Vinci Code sequel: ANGELS & DEMONS.
It’s not actually a sequel, since last time I checked the book Angels & Demons was published way before the book The Da Vinci Code.
It is a best seller by one of the coolest thriller/mystery authors of our generation Dan Brown. The story takes Prof. Langdon to a whole different adventure through Vatican city, solving codes and puzzles and the secret society Illuminati all leading to the battle between science and religion.
It’s an awesome book, trust me! You should read it before this movie comes out!

Tom Hanks will reprise his role, though I always thought he was a bad choice to play Langdon. Why can’t they cast someone like Harrison Ford instead?!
There was a talk that they might cast Gisele Bundchen to play Vittoria, but I think Monica Bellucci should play her, and I don’t care if Monica’s old.
Oscar winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man) will also return. The Da Vinci Code movie was a terrible adaptation, besides… the book Angels & Demons’ story is longer and the conspiracy is more intricate, they’re not gonna be able to compress everything into two hours without disappointing the fans. They should present it in trilogy form.
I’m still curious and excited about this info because I remember some of the crazy murders that happen in the book and I wonder how they’re gonna look on the big screen.
This project will start sometime next February and they’ll be shooting the film in Europe and they’re hoping to release it by next year’s Christmas.
