3D Mania!

Planet 51

I wonder why this 3-D trend didn’t become popular when the 3-D animated The Polar Express was released back in 2004? Now with the popularity of Beowulf 3-D, Hollywood is going to keep coming out with more 3-D animated features.
Hell they’re even going to have Branden Fraser traveling to the center of the earth in the 3-D movie JOURNEY, which will hit theaters July 11th, 2008.

Planet 51

I’ve informed you about Disney’s upcoming BOLT about a dog who thinks he’s got superpowers cause he’s on some TV show until reality bites and tells him that he doesn’t really have any superpower.
Well that movie is going to be 3-D too.

The latest 3-D animated movie info is that New Line Cinema, the studio that brought us the Ring that rule them all, has bought the rights to the Illion animation studios’ animated feature project PLANET 51. The story is about this planet that’s always paranoid about alien invasion. Capt. Chuck Baker from earth arrives on the planet and befriends a young inhabitant of the planet, he then must evade those who try to capture him.
Sounds like it’s going to be a funny one.
No word yet on whether or not they’ve cast any stars to do the voice. If you ask me…they’re probably going to get John Goodman because for some reason Hollywood loves having John Goodman in animated films (Bee Movie, Cars, Emperor’s New Groove, Monsters Inc.)

This whole 3-D mania is cool and all and I think it has made movie watching experience even more thrilling than ever… but I hope it’s not contagious because if I had to watch every single movie using uncomfortable glasses for hours, I wouldn’t enjoy movies anymore.
Who am I kiddin’?! I’m a movie buff.
Blood in blood out. Peace, son!
