THE A-TEAM The Movie!
YEAH! Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Awesome!
This info has made my day. In fact, it’s such a great one, the earth needs to stop rotating and just focus on this amazing info for one damn minute!
A reliable source at Latinoreview has informed the humans all over the planet that there is a high likeliness that director John Singleton (Boyz N the Hood) has agreed to direct the movie version of one of my favorite TV series of all time:
The A-Team…

Director John Singleton
When I was growing up, as a kid, I watched a lot of TV as much as I did movies. I grew up watching Magnum P.I., Miami Vice, The A-Team and then in the late 80s and early 90s there were of course The Simpsons and The X-Files.
I’ve always wanted for someone to make a movie version of The A-Team.
I myself at one point wanted to go to film school so bad just because I wanted to bring that particular awesomeness to the big screen.

The A-Team
The A-Team was a popular TV series that ran from 1983 til 1987. It told of four Vietnam veterans wrongfully accused for a crime they didn’t commit. They became soldiers for hire to help the innocent while on the run from the military.
The thing that’s really known about this series is the fact that none of the people, bad guys or good guys, ever died. I remember scenes of explosions and gunshots, and cars jumping off cliffs but all the characters would walk away unharmed. The late George Peppard was the leader of the gang and Mr. T was hilarious as the tough guy who’s afraid of flying, so anytime they had to go somewhere far, they had to drug him to sleep and wake him up when they arrived.
I love the music to their intro, it’s so cool it always gets me wanna just go out there and do some action stuff of my own.
Stephen J. Cannell, the creator of the show will produce the movie, has said that the movie version will be less cartoony and more serious. It will deal with contemporary political issues.
I take it that means the movie will be gritty, dark, and raw, which I don’t mind at all because as much as I love the humor aspect of The A-Team, sometimes it’s good to adjust and adapt to today’s audiences.
The characters could really die this time.
Being familiar with John Singleton’s films (Four Brothers, Shaft) we could expect The A-Team movie version to be nothing less than violent, fast-paced thriller.
I wonder who John Singleton’s gonna cast as the new A-Team?
I’ve always thought that Robert De Niro would be perfect as John Hannibal Smith, Jim Carrey should play the crazy Murdoch, Brad Pitt could play the player Faceman, and B.A Baracus should be played by Michael Clarke Duncan… Latinoreview suggested Ving Rhames for that role… I don’t think that’s a bad idea either.
To celebrate this info, here’s the intro to The A-Team TV series, for us the fans.
