Rama’s SCREEN

Now that John Singleton IS definitely going to direct the movie version of THE A-TEAM based on the popular version, my favorite from the 80s, the million dollar question is who he’s going to get play the characters.

My friend Sam, who is also a movie buff, suggested George Clooney as the leader John Hannnibal Smith, although I’ve always thought Robert De Niro wouldn’t be bad to play that role either.
Most people can agree that there’s only one actor on this earth that can be as crazy as Murdoch and that is none other than Mr. Jim Carrey himself.

Latinoreview suggested Ryan Reynolds (Van Wilder) to play Faceman, but if you think about it… wouldn’t it be awkward to have Ryan Reynolds in a team that’s filled with people who are not his age? That is if George Clooney and Jim Carrey do get chosen.
The character Faceman not only has good looks but also comedic timing… it should be someone like Brad Pitt or better yet… the up and coming romantic/comedy movie star, every woman’s dream, Patrick Dempsey.

Variety recently reported that there’s been rumor about Ice Cube might be cast as B.A. Baracus, the role made famous by Mr. T.
Twentieth Century Fox denied it but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be a possibility.
I’ve always thought Michael Clarke Duncan or Ving Rhames would be perfect as the tough guy who’s afraid of flying.
But Ice Cube wouldn’t be a bad consideration too. He’s worked with John Singleton in Boyz N The Hood and he’s also worked with George Clooney in Three Kings and he’s known to kinda, somewhat have that angry look on his face, one similar to the face Mr. T would show when he “pity the fool!”

The storyline’s gonna be more contemporary. They’ll still be helping people while running from the law but along with that, there will be political complication, oil tycoon and laser technology.
Modern or not modern, The A-Team will bring their A-game!

The sad part about all this is that I’m probably one of the few people left who knows what the hell A-Team is about. Today’s generation wouldn’t give a single crap about casting info like this one, unless they come up with who’s gonna play Britney Spears in the biopic movie about her, which is NOT happening by the way, thank God!
