Paramount Vantage has been a leader lately in bringing us quality movies like No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood, it’s as if they’re not fooling around and only distributing movies that could have a chance at winning an Oscar, any category.
Keira Knightley who seems to have an itch for going back in time maybe because she just loves to wear that damn corset, she is going to be the movie THE DUCHESS, scheduled to open in the fall season of 2008 meaning that it’s the time of year for Oscar worthy movies, could this be another contender?
Maybe it’s just going to end up like Marie Antoinette. The only thing recognized was the costume work.

THE DUCHESS tells a a true story of the life of 18th century aristocrat, Duchess of Devonshire, known for promiscuity, gambling debts and extravagant political and personal lives. O and did I mention she was also an ancestor of Princess Diana?! Why can’t they just a big screen movie of Princess Diana instead of her great, great, great whatever grate grandmother?
