Arnold the Guv’nah will not be in TERMINATOR 4
The producer of the fourth installment of TERMINATOR franchise, Moritz Borman spoke to Empire via The Sun and clarified a few things about the anticipated project.
He explained that the new trilogy will set in motion the situation building up to the ultimate moment when they would be forced to send a terminator to go back in time.
In other words in the movie TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS, the story will mostly revolve around the times prior to that… kinda like Star Wars: Episode I where you didn’t have Darth Vader yet.
So it does make sense not to have Arnold in the fourth movie and have him in the fifth or the sixth movie instead.
Here’s what Mortiz Berman had to say about all this:…
“I can tell you this much — this is the story everybody has been waiting for. Namely, we’re in the future. The part of it where Arnold’s character has not yet been built but is on the drawing board.
“And in the next two episodes we’ll get to the point where time-travel is more in the foreground. It’s the war against the machines, the start of Skynet taking over the world.”
But Borman hinted that Californian governor Schwarzenegger could feature in two subsequent movies.
“It’s convenient that he hasn’t been built at this point of the story, as Arnold has more important things to do right now, but that doesn’t mean he might not re-appear later in the trilogy,” he said.
“He knows the material and is very supportive of what we’re doing. There might even be hints of his character in this one.”
By the time Arnold’s going to be involved in this project, he’s not going to be governor anymore, allowing him to wear the old leather jacket and sunglasses again.
I don’t think we need to see his naked body in that bubble-like teleportal vessel. Last I heard, he’s not buff anymore.
In the article, Moritz did not confirm that Christian Bale would play John Connor as it was previously reported.
O, man! I thought it was a done deal?! What the hell?
Moritz better be bluffing, trying to mess with our minds and all.
“Everyone is assuming there is a John Connor and a Terminator in the script. Connor is in there along with another figure, but who is that figure?”
“I’ve heard everything from SYLVESTER STALLONE to VIN DIESEL, and other ones. I can tell you that Vin Diesel is not somebody we’re currently talking to.”
O no.. Not Sly! He already got two franchises, Rambo and Rocky, he can’t have this one too!
From the last info we had here, it was mentioned that this ‘figure’ Moritz spoke of would have name: Marcus.
I’m guessing this so-called ‘figure’ might be a character who’s a renegade badass or a desperado whose actions cross paths with or help ignite the resistance which will then be led by the charismatic John Connor.
So… maybe the young actor Channing Tatum (Step Up, Stop-Loss) could play that role.
