Borat Protests the War
According to Timesonline, Steven Spielberg reportedly Sacha Baren Cohen (Borat) to play a character in a based on a true story movie of The Trial of The Chicago Seven where Sacha might get paid $3 Million to portray Abbie Hoffman, a figure from the 1960s counterculture who used a series of pranks to campaign against the war.
The story will follow up a group of protesters that disrupt the 1968 Democratic Party convention with an anti war campaign that turned nasty. Demonstrators threw bricks, police threw tear gas and Chicago was engulfed in flames.
Sounds a lot like my neighborhood when I was growing up.
Sacha Baren Cohen doing drama, huh? Let’s see if he has what it takes to be under the direction of the great Steven Spielberg.
This is said to be Munich-like, where it deals with the morality of political attack.
It must be good to be Steven Spielberg, doing all kinds of genre and most of the time, his movies come up awesome.
The article goes on saying that Sacha won’t have to do much to change his looks to play Hoffman because aside from them both being 6 ft tall and Jewish, as you can see from this picture below, him and Hoffman practically look like they could be long lost brothers.
