New TDK Viral

Harvey DentAnother Viral website for THE DARK KNIGHT Marketing strategy has surfaced online.
As it was mentioned before, from now on they’re going to start focusing on using Harvey Dent a.k.a Two Face instead of The Joker.
The new trailer will be attached to the epic movie 10,000 B.C on March 7th, 2008. I take it this time around it’s going to show Gotham’s district attorney as opposed to the first trailer which showed a lot of Heath Ledger as the laughing villain.

The new viral website’s address is: http://ibelieveinharveydent.com/

It’s got a banner with the picture of actor Aaron Eckhart as D.A. Harvey Dent and his campaign to change Gotham.
There’s a couple of brackets underneath it where you can sign up to find out how you can join the fight.
I put in my e-mail address and phone number, I was curious to see what was going to happen and then I received this through e-mail.

Citizens of Gotham! The future of our city rests in your hands!

Alone, we are helpless against the thugs and killers menacing our city.

Together, we have the power to take back Gotham.

In just a few days, you’ll find out how.

Awesome!

PATHOLOGY Teaser

Thanks to John Campea at themovieblog for being generous enough to share with the world the brand new disturbing teaser for the upcoming movie PATHOLOGY. In this clip, the medical students are playing with dead bodies. ya know… because that’s what medical students do in between classes.
It’s pretty funny and pretty F*ed up the same time,… but mostly pretty funny if you have a sick sense of humor.
PATHOLOGY stars Heroes’ Milo Ventimiglia who also played Rocky’s kid in Rocky Balboa.

INDIANA JONES at Cannes

INDIANA JONES 4

I hate it when the movie that I really want to see badly more than anything else in the world is being shown to a bunch of rich people before us the common folks get to see it.
Variety said that Cannes film festival this year doesn’t have a line up yet but it will premiere INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL.

The word is that Steven Spielberg and George Lucas aren’t planning to have a premiere over here and no one will get any kind of advanced screening until it goes nationwide on May 22nd, 2008.
The adventure movie will debut at Cannes May 18th, 2008.
Steve and George will fly all the cast there: Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Shia LaBeouf, Ray Winstone.
Stupid French.

They did the same thing back in 2006 when Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer decided to use Cannes to show for the first time ever the movie The Da Vinci Code.

I guess when it comes down to it, it’s their money, it’s their project, they can do whatever the hell they want with it but why gotta be Cannes… way in France?

Sam Raimi can’t DRAG Ellen Page TO HELL

Ellen PageAccording to bloody-disgusting, and when you try to find info on horror movie, you know you can rely on something that has name that starts with bloody and ends with disgusting… Ellen Page (Juno) has quit the film project DRAG ME TO HELL, which is set to be directed by Sam Raimi (Spiderman movies)

The story was written by Sam and his brother Ivan, both who are well known for creating movies in this particular genre before Sam was known as the guy who directed the man with the web.
The plot is supposed to be about a young girl who becomes the host of a supernatural curse.

Apparently Ellen Page didn’t like the script. There’s something about it that she hated…. and so in the words of South Park’s character Cartman, she said to the Raimi brothers, ‘Screw you guys, I’m going home!’

Not certain what parts about the script that didn’t fly with her… if you ask me, may be it lacks sarcasm.

Questions:
Do you think Ellen Page would be perfect in a horror movie?
What do you think her next project should be about?

THE BREAKFAST CLUB the Remake?

The Breakfast Club

Director McG’s friend and protege, Anna Mastro has signed on to direct what appears to be the modern version of the classic hit The Breakfast Club.
Remember that movie? It was only one of the most popular teen movies ever.. a proud product of the 80s, directed by the awesome John Hughes and it starred young Emilio Estevez (Before he became Billy the Kid in Young Guns), Anthony Michael Hall (who also starred in Sixteen Candles, and Weird Science), and the redhead Molly Ringwald whose last gigs include one of the episodes of TV series Medium.

Anna Mastro’s film project is called BUMPED. And according to Hollywoodreporter, here is what makes it similar to the film about different teenagers stuck in a detention.

“A comedy-drama revolving around five twentysomethings — including a corporate go-getter, a musician and a flirt — who normally wouldn’t be friends but who get to know one another when they’re bumped from a flight and wind up stranded at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.”

So that’s why they call it a modern version of The Breakfast Club.
Instead of a classroom, they’re stuck at an airport…
Maybe Tom Hanks should make a cameo and reprise his role from The Terminal, that would be interesting.
Some movies just don’t need to be remade and I think this is one of those.
But what do you think?
Do we need a ‘modern day version’ of The Breakfast Club?

* To those of you who are not familiar with the movie, here is The Breakfast Club Trailer

The 2nd IRON MAN Trailer

Iron Man

Wohoo! I hope that still sounds cool enough to describe how awesome this new trailer of IRON MAN is. It premiered this evening as part of the hit series “Lost”.
This time it’s got more Gwyneth Paltrow and it shows a bit of Jeff Bridges working with the bad guys. But most importantly, we are treated with some cool shots of IRON MAN in action and check out the so called Jericho, the special effects will blow you away.
Tony Stark testing his suit, the rough trial and error and the final result. People who’ve seen the test screening said this movie’s awesome! And I’ll take their word for it because so far it looks like it has delivered everything it’s promised.
IRON MAN starts May 22nd, 2008 and here is the trailer #2.
Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

Goodbye, New Line Cinema

New Line CinemaWarner Bros.

This is not a movie info but it is movie-related if that makes any freakin’ sense at all. I don’t usually post info like this but since New Line has been a world renown name for about 40 years, it’s only fair to include in today’s things that you might or might not want to know. New Line is known for hits like NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series, RUSH HOUR series an LOTR series which has sued New Line for not sharing the profit.
Recently, the studio also helped brought us the controversial movie THE GOLDEN COMPASS, which received mixed reviews and failed at the box office.

Today, Warner Bros. has absorbed New Line Cinema, meaning New Line as we know it will no longer exists.
In order not to get lost in the fact and mis-inform you, here is the excerpt from Variety

The colorful 40-year run of New Line is coming to an abrupt end, costing the jobs of most of the company’s 600 staffers.

The company will be folded into Warner Bros. as a small genre arm, but its two toppers, Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, will not be part of the package.

No exact numbers have been divulged in terms of how many of New Line’s staffers will remain, but the surviving entity will be a shell of its former self, refocusing on the horror, comedy and urban genre pics that helped put it on the map decades ago.

Time Warner said New Line would continue to have development, marketing, business affairs and some distribution operations, but its films will go out through the Warner Bros. pipes, a change to be phased in after this weekend’s “Semi-Pro.”

In a message to New Line staffers, Shaye and Lynne warned that New Line will probably be a much smaller operation, saying details would be spelled out at meetings Friday in L.A. and Gotham.

“This was a painful decision, because we love New Line, and the people who work here have been like our second families,” Shaye and Lynne said. “But we will be leaving the company with enormous pride in what all of us at New Line have accomplished together. From its humble beginnings 40 years ago, our studio has created some of the most popular and successful movies of all time.”

Well.. so long New Line Cinema, thank you for the movies
You’ll be missed… maybe.
It’s been real and it’s been great.

THE LOVE GURU Trailer

The Love Guru

Paramount has released the movie trailer for Mike Myers’ new comedy movie THE LOVE GURU about a self-help expert from India who comes to America to find and fortune. First order of business is to settle the dispute between a star hockey player and his estranged wife who’s left him for his rival played by Justin Timberlake, who by the way is funny in his quick scene in this clip.
The movie opens June 20th, 2008
Also starring the talentless wonder Jessica Alba.
For some reason, Mike Myers in this role is just like Austin Powers but with long hair, beard and mustache.
What do you think about it, just watch this trailer and let me know in the comment section below.

Top 10 Coolest Running Scenes in Movies

Raiders of Lost Ark

What exactly is going to happen this weekend?
I am going to run the L.A. Marathon.

Traveling across the United States has its perks but now that I’m back, I’m both ready and nervous for this Sunday event.

If you see me on television, I’ll be the guy they take on a gurney to the ambulance after collapsing on the 15th mile, I’m kidding..
The fact of the matter is I’ve been training all this time and it should pay off, if it doesn’t then there’s something wrong with how I’ve trained, plain and simple.

The intention is not to break any record, it’s not ego trip either. I believe that we need to do one extraordinary thing at least once in our lifetime. Put ourselves to the limit and see how far your mind and body can take you. I don’t mean jumping in blind and acting stupid, what I’m emphasizing is to take calculated risks, the kinds that would have long-term positive impact.

Do something out of your comfort zone from time to time and survive to tell the story will not only make you a well-rounded, interesting person, but it will also boost your confidence, something that would be helpful in every aspect of your daily life, from work, study, all the way to relationship.

But enough with trying to sound like a wannabe motivational speaker. I am first and foremost a movie buff and in celebration of thousands of people who are about to run 26.2 miles, here are 10 movies that I think have some of the coolest running scenes in the history of cinema

Continue to check out the list

There’s spaceship behind it, and WALL-E’s love interest, a robot named Eve flying in the background.
I think it’s fair to say that our friend WALL-E is out of his league.
The adventure starts June 27th, 2008.
This poster is huge… you don’t believe me?
Just click on it and you’ll see how amazingly humongous it really is.

Leonardo DiCaprio snorts Cocaine

Leonardo DiCaprioThat title might be over-exaggerated, we’d like to think that Leo is a great actor who doesn’t do that in real life, but you never know with these celebrities. The man who was Howard Hughes, a gangster in New York and a Boston undercover cop is now dealing drugs or it seems so because he’s agreed to take up Mark Wahlberg’s offer to join him in a remake movie based on the 2006 documentary film Cocaine Cowboys, it’s about the drug kingpin Jon Roberts and his empire which was infamous back in the 1970s.

What is bold is the statement reported on Page Six about this still-in-development project…

The untitled flick “will blow Blow out of the water,” says a movie insider who added that Leo “is excited about the opportunity to play the airplane pilot who travels with Mark’s character to obtain kilos of cocaine from Pablo Escobar.”

Blow is not a title for a porn movie, it was a movie starring Johnny Depp back in 2001 about drug kingpin George Jung who established drug empire in America back in the 1970s. It seems like that decade is the golden times for these kinds of people.
It adds to the feel good experience they got while listening to BeeGees at the same time.
I thought Blow was an intriguing movie, it wasn’t outstanding or anything, Johnny Depp certainly did an excellent job but it wasn’t one of his best performances.
I think if this Mark Wahlberg’s project is written right, and by that mean better than the disappointing American Gangster, I think it might have a chance to blow any previous drug movie out of the water.

But still, in my book, even though the character’s fictional…. the best drug kingpin movie ever is Scarface.

SUPER HIGH ME Trailer

Hahaha! This trailer cracks me up, the whole concept is downright funny! Some comedian named Doug Benson is going to release a weird documentary called SUPER HIGH ME, it’s a take on that one comedy documentary movie by Morgan Spurlock in 2004, Super Size Me, where Morgan experimented to see what eating McDonald’s for 30 days straight can do to a body.
Well, Doug Benson will make a slight change, in his movie, he will smoke pot for 30 days straight. And then afterwards, he’ll stop smoking and drinking and start comparing results with the data he’s collected. The objective is to find out the effects marijuana has on a body. I can’t stop laughing as I’m typing this for you. This is in a way, a brilliant idea because it’s so stupid, if that makes sense at all. Here is the teaser trailer…

Possible WOLVERINE Poster

Joblo has found what appears to be a teaser poster for the X-Men spin off movie X-MEN ORIGIN: WOLVERINE. If this is true stuff, then it’s the first teaser poster of the next year’s summer blockbuster action superhero movie. One thing for sure… it’s not the new Freddy Kruger.
The story of the movie WOLVERINE goes back to the times before the X-Men movies where it will deal with how Wolverine came to be. This poster does indicate Marvel on the bottom left corner and it states the release date, which is May 1st, 2009. Either way, cool one!

STEP BROTHERS Trailer

STEP BROTHERS

Here is the trailer for Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s upcoming comedy movie STEP BROTHERS. It tells a tale of two best friends who become competitive as soon as their respective single parents marry each other. Not being able to know how to be responsible grown ups, they’re forced to live with one another. It opens July 25th, 2008. If you need a guarantee… how about this… the movie’s directed by Adam McKay (Talladega Nights, Anchorman)
Is it just me or is Will Ferrell the same character in all his movies. Don’t you think it’s getting kinda old?

FRIENDS and GILMORE GIRLS Movies

Lauren Graham and Matthew PerryWhile promoting their new movie BIRDS OF AMERICA, actress Lauren Graham (Bad Santa, Evan Almighty) and Actor Matthew Perry (The Whole Nine Yards) were asked by MTV about the possibility of GILMORE GIRLS Movie and perhaps FRIENDS Movie.
I don’t care much about the first one, but the latter definitely has made an impact on America’s pop culture.
I wasn’t a fanatic but it doesn’t take one to notice that at one point in time, everybody was talking about Rachel and Ross at coffeehouses everywhere at one point in time.

Here is what Lauren Graham said about this…

“I don’t know,” Lauren Graham said of the possibility of seeing the Gilmores on the big-screen someday. “I don’t know who makes those decisions. People always ask me that, and I’m like, ‘I don’t know’.”
“I don’t know what the ‘Gilmore Girls’ movie would be about, probably because the show wasn’t really about much. Nothing much happened; we just talked a lot.”

And Chandler.. I mean.. Matthew Perry had this to say…

“No,” he grinned. “I think it would be nice for the six of us to just get together and have dinner.”
“No, I don’t think [there will be a film], not ‘Friends’ anyway,” Perry shrugged, dropping a wet blanket on a Ross/Rachel reunion. “We are trying to arrange [something], much less a whole reunion that’s televised, than we’re just gonna have food together, I think.”

The reason why they were asked this particular question is because of how TV series are being brought to the big screen lately. SEX AND THE CITY, the sequel to THE X-FILES and the plan of making a movie version of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.
Lauren Graham went on to suggest that maybe they should join collective forces, bring the casts together and have a Friends/Gilmore Girls Movie.

What comes to mind:
Do you think FRIENDS Movie or GILMORE GIRLS Movie would be a good idea?
What today’s TV series that you think would would be awesome to be made into a movie?

Set Photos: BEDTIME STORIES

Via JFX Online, here are first look images on the location where they’re filming the movie BEDTIME STORIES starring Adam Sandler playing a father whose life turns upside down when the bedtime stories he tells his nephew come to life. Directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray), the movie is set to open Christmas day this year.
In this scene, Adam using an umbrella is protecting himself from gumballs rain. That looks fun! It’s better than the snow that’s falling here where I am right now. Gumballs falling from the sky, awesome!
What would you like to see start magically falling from the sky?

New GET SMART Trailer

Finally, another trailer for Steve Carell’s new comedy movie GET SMART based on one of my favorite series of all time, created by the legendary Mel Brooks. In this trailer we are treated with some more funny lines and action sequences and yes, more Anne Hathaway. But I don’t get what’s funny about The Rock stapling people’s heads.
You be the judge. Here is the trailer

The movie opens June 20th, 2008 and it’s about the good ol’ war between CONTROL and KAOS, the enemy which has killed many of CONTROL’s agent causing the world’s fate to lie on the skills of one man, Agent Maxwell Smart. Assisted by the beautiful pasty Agent 99, he will be like James Bond… if you take away the looks and the smooth moves.
Directed by Peter Segal (Anger Management) and I got a feeling there’ll be more sequels after this one.

DOOMSDAY Clips

I’m sitting here inside Holiday Inn Express in Columbus, Ohio. The weather outside is about 16 degrees and it snows everywhere up in this joint. I have to keep cleaning my rental car’s window frequently so I could see where I’m going when I’m driving. I can’t wait to go back to California, I tell ya that much. Plus there are some movies this weekend that needs watching like Semi-Pro, Penelope and others, you can see the rest of the list and the trailers by click on “In Theaters” located on the sidebar of this page.

So… as I wait for the next headline, I figured.. let’s watch three clips from the upcoming post-apocalypse action movie DOOMSDAY starring hot British import, Rhona Mitra. It’s about an elite tactical team sent out by the British gov. to prevent an epidemic from happening again. The movie opens March 14th, 2008.
The trailer was posted here a while ago. You can check it out under Related Info.

IRON MAN Magazine Cover

Well.. to be exact.. it’s actually Robert Downey Jr. as character Tony Stark who becomes IRON MAN when he feels the need to beat up some bad guys.
Today’s movie images wouldn’t be complete without this one.
Here’s the image on magazine cover for the new issue of Empire magazine, which previously has been very helpful in delivering the world new images of the Joker, Hellboy and all kinds of awesome movie characters on their cover.
How come my wife-beater shirts don’t have cool circle lights on the center? Stupid Hanes.
