SUPERHERO MOVIE Review

SUPERHERO MOVIE is for those who don’t mind paying to laugh a little and get disappointed for the most part. It is, in my opinion, a better spoof movie than all the rest that have been playing in theaters lately (Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie). But still, it probably should’ve gone… straight to DVD than to waste a big screen space.
Rick (Bell) is high school’s bumbling, unpopular loser who has a crush on his neighbor. One time he gets bit by a genetically enhanced dragonfly, which gives him great superpower. At the mean time, a villain is on the rise and his power is killing people to make himself immortal, his name is The Hourglass.

I usually hate to do reviews on spoof movies because I end up hating them so much, I’d find it difficult to write anything about what I think.
I watched Meet the Spartans and got so angry at how terrible it was, I had to take a long nap just to cool my head.
SUPERHERO MOVIE is funnier in the trailer, I mean.. the movie’s trailer really cracked me up. The movie however does have some funny moments, scenes that’ll make you chuckle and laugh a bit from time to time, but once again, for the most part.. you’d watch it and feel yourself gettin’ dumber by the minute. It’s as if you know that your brain cells are slowly dying the longer you sit there and watch the whole damn thing.
For a movie that makes fun of superhero movies, it sure doesn’t make fun of many superhero movies.
I wonder what Tobey McGuire thinks about this movie and Drake Bell’s over-exaggerated portrayal of Spiderman’s Peter Parker.
Overall, just wait til it’s available on DVD.
