IRON MAN Review

Dude! I don’t even know how to begin the praises. IRON MAN opens Summer 2008 with a blaze of glory. It’s exhilarating, it’s super cool and eye-popping and jaw-dropping at the same time. A first rate action movie with… all the right moves. Stylish, innovative, and just plain awesome! Don’t live your life without seeing this movie. It’s every action movie lovers dream come true. IRON MAN has redefined what thrilling, breathtaking movies should be like and it takes it up a notch all the way to another extraordinary level.
Tony Stark is a billionaire playboy who makes money manufacturing weapons and selling them to the military. His latest missile Jericho has attracted the attention of the terrorists who kidnap him and demand he builds one for them. After his daring escape, he realizes that he needs to reinvent himself and protect the people he’s put in harms way. He builds a suit, perfects it, he is IRON MAN

Who would’ve thought that a guy like director Jon Favreau whose resume included okay flicks like Made, Zathura, and Elf, actually has what it takes to bring IRON MAN to the big screen, successfully I might add.
Excellent directing on his part. He’s got good eye on the positioning, and he knows what should motivate the characters in accordance to the dialogue and the situations at hand.
His cameo in this movie as Tony Stark’s driver is a sign that he’s really proud of this one. And he should be. It’s just a great movie through and through.
He said he’s in for another one so at least for now, we can rest assured knowing that the IRON MAN sequels will be in good hands.
Perfect cast! Did I mention perfect? Because that’s what they are… you could’ve never imagined the roles played by any other actors. Robert Downey Jr. carries the sarcasm with finesse and his ability to radiate charisma proves that he’s still a force to be reckon with.
Jeff Bridges is a remarkable actor who may not be one of the best movie villains of all time but he does his job and he does it well.
There’s a hint that Terrence Howard’s going to play War Machinel. When that’s going to happen is still a mystery at the moment.
Gwyneth Paltrow is a stunningly beautiful woman. The world and our attention could stop rotating at her presence.
What really deserves a standing ovation is the visual special effects by the guys at Industrial Light and Magic.
They never cease to amaze audiences everywhere by diligently coming up with new ways of bringing sharp and convincing images that are groundbreaking every single time.
The scene where IRON MAN is racing with jet planes as they chase after him. That whole scene is just… Wow! Unbelievable! I have never seen something so awesome in a long time. It will leave you speechless.
The story was decent. It’s not that bad at all. The whole building the characters from who he was into what he decides to be is self-explanatory. It doesn’t make us confused or bewildered.
It’s got enough puns and humor to keep us entertained.
What I really like about this movie is that it makes smart people look cool. It shows that being a nerd and being rich doesn’t have to mean not having any taste or enjoyment for all sorts of excitement life has to offer.

So is Pepper invincible because the whole building blew up when she pressed the red button and the next scene you see her taking care of Stark…
Yeah, I thought that was a little funny too.
Like there was no explanation as to how she managed to get out of the building so fast.
I need to see the movie again, maybe Tony told her to do something right away after the act of pressing the button
Just saw the movie last night, and it was so sick, in my opinion, this is mine, I liked it way better then the spidermans and batman begins I say best super hero movie…lol, but yah I was wondering how pepper got out without getting shocked or hurt…lol, but great way to start off the summer, cause I was kinda eh about the movie cause I didnt know howd it would go, but glad I saw it
I hate Iron Man…. Not the movie mind you. I have always hated the character and comic but I still read it anyway because I love comics. When I heard of this film being released I didn’t want to believe it, refused to watch teasers/trailers and thought, “Great… just make Captain America turn in his “grave” why don’t you.” (Comic fans would get that).
But despite how much I hate Iron Man and his comic book character, I enjoyed this movie! But that doesn’t mean I changed to like the character/hero…
This movie has everything a super hero film should have tons of action, cool visuals, and unexpected bad guys. The cast was perfect, especially Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts who I thought made the perfect Pepper.
But I did find the plot to be… loop holeish to say the least.
**spoiler alert**
1. So the terrorist wanted Tony to build the missle… but they could’ve just got one from Obadiah Stane anyway…. which they did eventually. So why not just get one from him in the first place!?
2. They were suppose to kill Tony…. but didn’t.
3. Only one shirt was cutout for his mini arc reactor… lol!
4. If Tony is so smart why couldn’t he just make something to remove the shrapnel from his body instead of making something that prevents it from going to his heart…
5. HOW DID PEPPER ESCAPE!?
Besides that, I enjoyed the movie and all it’s super hero goodness. Is it the best super hero film this year? We will see. But I still hate Iron Man… (the character, not the film)
1. Because Obadiah is not Tony Stark… just like when Tony Stark couldn’t figure out how Tony manage to turn something big into something small, and he was angry at his scientist and the scientist told him, “I’m not Tony Stark.
2. Yes, they were supposed to kill Tony, but you know how it is with stupid terrorists…
Just like any bad guy, if they think you’re useful for something, they’ll keep you alive until they have no longer use for you.
3. you have a good point there,
4. I was told, and you can correct me if I’ve wrongly informed,… shrapnels are very very very small… taking them all out of the body would be near impossible..
that’s what I’ve been told.
5. People asked the same thing.. It’s hilarious how she could escape that quickly
But despite that flaw, people in general like the movie, they’re so impressed by all the other factors of the movie that they’d be willing to turn a blind eye on the mystery of Pepper’s escape from the explosion
