JACK BLACK and Rama’s SCREEN

Kung Fu Panda and Pineapple Express

Yesterday afternoon, I went to the screening of Kung Fu Panda, the new animated movie starring the voice of Jack Black as the main character. The event was held at Sherry Lansing theater inside Paramount Pictures Studio. I arrived very early, so I snuck in and saw the movie when it was just private screening held for the employees and their families. Afterwards, I wandered around the studio for a bit, looking at the backlot and all the props and the set and what not. And Jack Black apparently was taking a tour around the studio too.
I went back to the theater and met a cool woman named Carolyn, I hope I spelled that correctly.
And so the screening began, and I watched the movie again. After it ended, Jack Black showed up and the audiences got to ask him a question.

I asked him if SCHOOL OF ROCK 2 is ever going to happen, to which he replied that there’s been drafts out there but no deal is locked and sealed yet but he wants to re-visit the character and rock again.
After all was said and done, the audiences were directed to the exits, but my new friend was persistent, she wanted to take picture with Jack Black and so she did and she kindly helped me get a picture with him too.
It was one of the most awesomest experiences ever!

Jack Black and Me

In the evening, we drove to Pico Blvd at Landmark Theater to catch the screening of PINEAPPLE EXPRESS.
I’ll have the review by next week. The movie won’t be released until August 8th, 2008.
All I can say for now is that if you like Ceech and Chong, Half-Baked, Friday, Harold and Kumar and a bunch of cool action movies with lots of explosion and outrageous stunts, then you’ll like the new stoner movie by Seth Rogen and James Franco.
After the movie, they showed up to answer audiences’ questions. There was one dude who wasted everybody’s precious time by asking a stupid question, it was so dumb that Seth had to ask for anyone to ask another question to make up for it.
I can’t believe nobody asked him about the rumor of him planning to make THE GREEN HORNET Movie.
People are so not movie-connected these days.
James Franco is much more friendlier than Seth Rogen who seems a bit distant, he’s one of those ‘don’t touch me’ kinda celebrity.
