WAR OF GODS CLASHES With THE TITANS

300

Via Collider and Variety,
The visionary Director Tarsem Sigh (The Fall) has been chosen to helm the project WAR OF GODS which is a mythological tale set in war-torn ancient Greece, as the young warrior prince Theseus leads his men in a battle against evil that will see the gods fighting with soldiers against demons and titans.

Director Louis Leterrier whose recent reboot movie called The Incredible Hulk surprised Marvel fans, has been chosen to direct another remake movie, CLASH OF THE TITANS, which centers around Perseus, the son of Zeus, must overcome a series of obstacles to save his beloved Princess Andromeda, including cutting off the serpent-tressed head of Medusa, who can turn a man to stone with a single glance.

Each movie has a different story, so what’s the similarity?
They’re both based on the fascination with Greek mythology… and the fascination with the movie 300.

That’s right… King Leonidas and his Spartan Army will be the inspiration for how these two movies are going to look like as far as the green screen techniques are concerned.

Nowadays, Superhero movies want to have the same feel as Batman Begins… and Greek mythology based movies want to have the same responses that were showered over 300.
Some movies just sparkle, other movies can’t help but to be jealous but won’t that hurt originality?

* In celebration of this info, here’s the old trailer of the 1981 movie CLASH OF THE TITANS starring the late Laurence Olivier

Kratos totally killed both Theseus and Perseus (Harry Hamlin’s Perseus, to boot!) in the second God of War video game. Just some trivia for your readers, Rama!

Oh, and 300 totally felt like watching an awesome video game in action…I don’t know if every sword-and-sandal movie should have that video game feel, though, let alone pull it off successfully.

    Cheers,
    Ryan
