Aaron Yoo says that Jason in FRIDAY THE 13th The Remake will be Realistic
As an Asian, I admire Asian actors like John Cho (H&K, Star Trek) and Aaron Yoo (21, The Wackness) who don’t fall in the Hollywood stereotype that Asians are only good for martial art/kung fu roles.
Aaron’s next movie is the horror remake FRIDAY THE 13th and he spoke to Shocktilyoudrop.com recently about what the fans could expect differently from this version…
“I think the biggest difference is that Jason is fast, and he’s realistic,” he began. “It’s not the kind of horror movie where stalk slowly, run fast and somebody catches up, there’s none of the teleportation thing (from past movies)…the basic storyline idea of Jason is the same, and he’s got this 2 and a half foot machete.”
What’s wrong with the old ways of scaring people? I still like the good ol… stalk slowly, run fast and somebody catches up.
Seeing Jason running like a friggin’ sprinter might be a little too much.
I’m a big fan of George Romero’s way of scaring his audiences,.. his zombies would walk really slow but for some amazing athletic ability reasons… the zombies would always manage to reach their targets and eat their brains out.
