Harold Ramis on GHOSTBUSTERS 3
This past week, an info worth celebrating was announced that that a New GHOSTBUSTERS Movie will happen. New Writers for the story have been hired by Columbia and that lucky team consists of Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Pressure is on and all the fans will be expecting a good script resulting in a good movie. I say that because nowadays it’s so easy for a script to hit online even way before the movie gets made. Usually latinoreview is very good at that kinda stuff.
The word is that the old cast, Harold Ramis and the gang might be involved in the new project to a certain extent. This is what he said to Chicago Tribune’s Pop Machine via e-mail..
“yes, columbia is developing a script for GB3 with my year one writing partners, gene stupnitsky and lee eisenberg. judd apatow is co-producing year one and has made several other films for sony, so of course the studio is hoping to tap into some of the same acting talent. aykroyd, ivan reitman and i are consulting at this point, and according to dan, bill murray is willing to be involved on some level. he did record his dialogue for the new ghostbusters video game, as did danny and i, and ernie hudson. the concept is that the old ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity. not much else to say at this point. everyone is confident a decent script can be written and i guess we’ll take it from there.”
Awesome, Harold Ramis! Thanks for clarifying it.
Cross your fingers! Because with all the info about New Live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Not Happening and then we heard that School of Rock 2 Might Not happen too… it would suck big time if the plan to make GHOSTBUSTERS 3 turns out to be nothing but a big “Gotcha! You got punked!”
