SEX DRIVE Team to Make Untitled Comedy
It’s too bad SEX DRIVE only earned about $3.5 Million in its opening weekend… a huge loss considering it took $19 Million to make the movie. It’s a really funny sex comedy, but I don’t think audiences would wanna give it a fighting chance. And man, I still can’t get over Amanda Crew, she is just the cutest thing.
The SEX DRIVE screenwriting duo Sean Anders and John Morris have made a pact again with Summit Entertainment.
According to Variety, this is, in short, what the movie’s going to be about… wild college sophomore who discovers that a woman with whom he had a one-night stand with the year before, has been killed in a car wreck and that the baby he never knew he had fathered is now his.
Damn, sounds more like a drama to me.
Recently, Seth Rogen signed on to do a comedy that has something to do with Cancer, and this past week, eventhough it’s not actually a movie project in development, Elton John suggested that Ben Stiller should make a comedy that has something to do with AIDS.
If that’s not enough, according to Hollywood Reporter, Miramax wants to develop a comedy titled A.C.O.D (Adult Children of Divorce) about a grown man still caught in the crossfire of his parents’ 15-year-old divorce
What is up with people these days making comedy using sensitive subject?
Is this like a new fad, a new way of ‘pushing the envelope’?
