If AMERICAN BEAUTY Had More Comedy…
Some of you probably think American Beauty was a boring drama… Fair enough… but what if it had comedy, would you have liked it better then? If Kevin Spacey dreamed of Mena Suvari in a bathtub full of rose petals and the next thing you know, everybody had a big laugh…that would be rather dumb than funny. This is why I’m not a screenwriter.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Producer Anthony Bregman and comic writers Jay Reiss and Ian Helfer will make a comedic drama titled ORANGES about a man who has a romantic relationship with the daughter of a family friend, turning the lives of the man and the family upside down.
Now get this.. the project is described as “American Beauty’ if ‘American Beauty’ had more comedy”
That’s cool and all,… same sentiment I feel about another movie… if only How To Lose Your Friends and Alienate People had actual funny comedy.
What if American Beauty was an Action/thriller movie, now that I’d like to see.
