British Comedian Russell Brand is not just a bad boy, he’s a natural born rascal…he even got fired from BBC because of his out of control on air radio pranks, this past summer, he hosted MTV Movie awards and was talking trash about Pres. Bush, he’s got a history of sex, drugs, and alcohol, no wonder he’s been rumored to play Jack Sparrow’s brother in the next Pirates of the Caribbean Movie…….and then there’s his negative side.

But can he be the next big comedy movie star? America’s only known him so far for his appearance in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, he’s also collaborated with Helen Mirren and a bunch of big names for THE TEMPEST and he can be seen in Adam Sandler’s upcoming holiday movie, BEDTIME STORIES, but can those be enough to get him that stardom… he thinks not.

The way he sees it, you gotta beat up the biggest boy in the yard to get the respect you’re looking for. That’s why he’s going to remake a classic ARTHUR which starred the late great Dudley Moore.
According to Hollywoodreporter, Brand is busy looking for writers to pen the screenplay.
The original movie plot centers around the character is a happy drunk with no pretensions at any ambition. He is also the heir to a vast fortune which he is told will only be his if he marries Susan. He does not love Susan, but she will make something of him the family expects. Arthur proposes but then meets a girl with no money who he could easily fall in love with.
There’s a sequel titled ARTHUR 2: ON THE ROCKS also starring Dudley Moore

ARTHUR won 2 Oscars and Dudley Moore was nominated for Best Lead, but I doubt Russell Brand is in it for the golden statuette. I think he wants to see if he can draw in box office money and create a following of loyal fanbase by carrying a movie as a leading man.
He needs to look the part first, meaning that hairstyle has got to go.

I think someone should make a movie about Dudley Moore.. that would be more worth my time.
