MOONLIGHTING The Movie?

O, man! This info had me at MOONLIGHTING… it’s one of the series I watched when I was a kid.. and yes, as I’ve mentioned thousands of times before, I grew up watching re-runs of 80s TV series like Remington Steele, Airwolf, The A-Team, Knight Rider, McGyver, and of course, the legendary team of Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd.
When I watch the TV series Bones now, the way they hard try to make David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel to have the same chemistry like what Moonlighting had to offer,.. it’s just not the same, man!

I remember in the evening, I’d tune in to watch Dave (Willis) and Maddie (Shepherd) saying smartass witty remarks while doing a bumbling detective work that usually ends with some classic comedic situations. There was something addictive about the concept. It made you wonder if they’re really attracted to each other because at the same time, they’re also always arguing.
Now that there’s a new version of Knight Rider that is pretty lame in my book, I was concerned that a network would decide to make a new Moonlighting series with a couple of newbie actors who would ruin the classic.

But better info has arrived, or I should say rumor, for the time being. According to Variety, MOONLIGHTING creator, Glenn Gordon Caron, wants to reunite Bruce and Cybill for a 20th anniversary TV Movie. Word has it that both actors have no problem with the idea.
It’s no secret that in the last seasons, there were tension between the two that caused the decline and cancellation of the show. Bruce Willis became one of the biggest action stars on earth and Cybill Shepherd.. well, not so much.. she had some failed talk shows and a bunch of other attempts.. but she’s still around.
Both Bruce and Cybill are willing to return as long as Glenn Gordon Caron gets full control of the project.
Better yet,..With the success of Sex and The City the movie last year,.. How bout a MOONLIGHTING big screen movie?! That would be so much more awesome!
Who watches TV Movie anyway unless it’s shown on HBO?!
