YOUNG PEOPLE F**KING Review

This is one of the most interesting movies I’ve ever seen. It’s a fun take on, how should I put this, sexual exploration, if you will. It deals with different ‘genres’ of sex. It’s obvious from the title that the movie’s trying to be as blunt as possible but I’m surprised by how well structured each of the story is and how… Read more
COLLEGE Review

This is another raunchy teen comedy and I gotta tell ya, it’s pretty awesome. COLLEGE is like a mix between Superbad and Animal House but with ten times more profanity and the sex humor is ten times more obscene. This is not the type of movie that would have a emotional conscientious moments. It’s straight up… Read more
HAMLET 2 Review

HAMLET 2 is a comedy that got my hopes up but never reaches quite exactly what it promises. It’s got potential but it lacks many things that would make a decent movie. It has… Read more
THE ROCKER Review

I’ve always wanted the movie School of Rock 2 but I never expected it to appear in this form. THE ROCKER isn’t original but it is entertaining. It’s another story of a middle aged man who wants to feel young again, who’s been wanting a second chance because… Read more
THE HOUSE BUNNY Review

THE HOUSE BUNNY is not bad at all, thanks to Anna Faris, whose looks and comedic timing save this movie from the possibility of becoming one of the worst ever. Overall, it’s somewhat funny, meaning if you like jokes at the expense of dumb blonds then… Read more
HENRY POOLE IS HERE Review

I thought Luke Wilson would never find that one movie that would make him memorable as an actor. I was wrong. HENRY POOLE IS HERE is a heartfelt, powerful drama that proves that Owen Wilson’s brother might just be talented after all. This movie will make you choose to believe. It will… Read more
TROPIC THUNDER Review

TROPIC THUNDER is one of the craziest most hilarious comedy movies out there that will make you laugh and cry from laughing too hard. If you don’t dig silly, over the top scenes ala SNL sketches then you probably… Read more
SWING VOTE Review

SWING VOTE is probably Kevin Costner’s decent job in many years. As a political satire, I think the movie does well in ridiculing and making fun of the election process, the campaign and how politics is nothing but… Read more
STEP BROTHERS Review

I really thought I would laugh out loud watching this movie but the only thing that went through my mind when I watched this was, “WTF!” Will Ferrell’s new collaboration with John C. Reilly and Adam McKay will let you down. I don’t mind R-rated comedy, in fact some of the raunchiest comedy movies out there are… Read more

Review:
I like this particular one. It’s a romantic comedy that most chicks would find it irritating because it rings true. Relationships are complicated, we all know that. Anyone says easy obviously came from another universe that’s not Milky Way. Actor Dan Asher and Actress Katherine Hinchey excellently portray an exaggerated epitome of former lovers engaging in a century old traditional habit of… arguing.
By the way, the car is stranded on the side of the street. A street with cars passing by. You would think that they’d get out and try to find help. And where are their cellphones? Maybe the director wants to rule that variable out or maybe this is set in the 80s.
We will never know exactly why opposites attract or why fools fall in love. It’s a cosmic mystery, I suppose. I can speak from firsthand experience that there is something oddly amusing about arguing with someone you’re comfortable arguing with. I’m confusing you, I know.
Let me put it this way, the man in the short film is frustrated with not being able to come up with an original idea for his next script, the girl wants to help but he rebuffs it and she thinks he’s judging her. Typical ![]()
Always quickly to assume things… and us guys are guilty too for thinking we’d be inadequate if we receive inputs from girls. What are we, in junior high?!
For some weird reason we like to instigate arguments because to a certain extent, conflicts keep us sane.
There are hints as to what might motivate their conversation. It’s obvious why these two aren’t together anymore. I can only assume that she’s been trying to move on and see other people but she always finds herself back in his presence. Whereas for him, as inconsiderate as he is, he’s one of those guys who knows how to cheer a girl up (evident in that tape recorder act) but has difficulty being there for her emotionally. And yet, once again, they can’t live.. with or without each other.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS Review

Smoke some and get some, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS is a high time party starter with outrageous action and in your face explosives. It’s a comedy movie for all the knuckleheads out there who take life one pipe at a time. I know I shouldn’t be advocating marijuana but this is just… Read more
MEET DAVE Review

Congratulations to Eddie Murphy, he has successfully made a follow up to his failed Norbit with this one. You literally can feel your brain cells dying by the minute as you watch each torturous scene. MEET DAVE reminds you why you have pop corn in your hand, so you can throw ‘em onto the screen. MAMMA MIA! Review

Some things are better left alone. And this is one good proof of exactly that. I’ve never seen the musical stage play, my friends did and they said it was spectacular.. common choice of word, but if the movie was like the broadway version, then count me out of every stage play everywhere. I’m going to judge this based on the film quality which is… Read more
Bulletfilm Video: THE MYSTERIOUS MICHAEL A
I was watching cool short films on Bulletfilm.com, an awesome venue where you can post your own movie projects, you aspiring filmmakers! And then I came across this comedy with an interesting title, which got me curious and so I watched it and you know what… I’m glad I did.
THE MYSTERIOUS MICHAEL A
Directed by: NIGEL LESMOIR-GORDON
(Click on the image below to watch the short film)
The synopsis is brief and straightforward, the story centers around a visitor named Michael who takes a room in Margaret’s Bed and Breakfast. Michael works on a book day and night, but leaves secretly and without paying. Margaret is distraught until she finds that he has left her his manuscript, which turns out to be very valuable. Margaret’s life is transformed. Simple, right?
Once the word transformed is mentioned, most people can assume it’s for the better. I’m not saying the story isn’t predictable but it’s not done in a way that would let you down.
It’s a comedy and the success of it all depends on the interaction between the two main characters. Actress Joanna Bowen does well in playing the home owner, Margaret, who’s not keen on Michael’s unorthodox method of paying the rent, which starts with a down payment and pay full when leaving. You can see she would constantly come up with any new service and extra charge just to make sure he’s paying something at least, on daily basis. Actor Nicholas Jones as the mysterious man seems annoyed by her efforts but you can see that he’s determined to finish what he was set out to do from the beginning.
Who’s Michael A? Is he an angel? Is he a good Samaritan? Or is he just some rich dude who’s got mad skills in writing novels in just 28 days and is a glutton for helping others, a savior complex? No one knows what motivates him to go from one house to another and change the residents’ lives.
I like movies about angels. I particularly grew up watching Michael Landon’s TV series Highway to Heaven where in every episode, he got to help somebody and then hitchhiked his way to help the next person.
To a certain extent, even though I know that THE MYSTERIOUS MICHAEL A is a short comedy that’s meant to entertain, I kinda wish it would show a bit of a what Margareth goes through to deserve such gift. Maybe they could’ve shown just briefly what motivates Margareth to rent out a room or why she really needs the money to come in more often than just wait until the 28 days is over. I think the character Michael is good just the way it is because he needs to be kept mysterious.
For a short film, the production is surprisingly well, you can tell director Nigel Lesmoir-Gordon is not inexperienced. His directing is subtle yet it doesn’t go astray from its humor and the element of surprise. This is yet another proof that a very interesting story could compliment the simplicity surrounding it.
My grade for this short film: 4 out of 5
SIXTY SIX Review

A comedy that’s not quite for younger audience but it’s fun enough for the family to enjoy. SIXTY SIX is heartwarming, witty, and it’s got powerful drama. It’s not too sentimental but it’s not insensitive either. If you’re looking for a comedy with good values about brotherhood and family, no matter how ridiculous and embarrassing they may be, this is it. It does have… Read more

THE PROMOTION Review

This is one of those movies that you can proudly say, “That was pretty good!” I was expecting THE PROMOTION to be as awful and humorless as Sean William Scott’s last failed effort called Mr. Woodcock, but this is nothing like that. THE PROMOTION is a comedy movie that surprisingly… Read more
FINDING AMANDA Review

This is an unexpected surprise. By that I don’t mean it’s one of the best films of the year, but it is however will have the power to make you smile at the end of it. FINDING AMANDA is a comedy that remains funny from the start to finish. It’s a nice little movie. I can’t see how anybody would hate this one. It’s… Read more
GET SMART Review

Yes, this is a TV-to-movie should look like. It’s contemporary but it does justice and it is faithful to the spirit of the original 1960s classic TV series. GET SMART is action packed, humor packed and…would you believe it’s also cool and sexy? Thanks to the chemistry between… Read more
